Was the speed relatively the same? In other words is this a guage problem or a performance issue. at 3200 RPM I'd think the boat would barely be coming on plane.

sounds like you where running against the tide or current, or you have show thing on your prop.

Any odd water conditions?

If the boat bottom gets a beard, it'll slow you down big time. I've had it happen in 2 weeks of non-use.

There are a lot of things it could be. If the bottom is clean and the prop is not damaged, and trim tabs are functioning, then start with the fuel filter, make sure spark arrestor is clean (I've seen rubber from the belts clog them), if it's carbureted make sure the choke is going fully open when warm, (Mercruiser electric chokes are notorius problems), and the throttle linkage is going fully open. Beyond that there could be issues that a good mechanic needs to look at. (ignition timing, compression, spark plugs, distributor, plug wires, fuel pressure, etc)
I'm not an MPI person but they have diagnostic readers available that can pinpoint problems quickly.
Good Luck!

SB,

What engine and drive combo does the boat have?

Always Sober and I both have 2400 SC3's. Mine, a 2004 model, has the 350 MAG/B3 combo. With 2-4 people and 1/2 fuel mine is on plane by 2500, a little less if the tabs are way down, and will stay on top down to about 2200-2300.

My first guess is something on the prop(s).

Dan

Last time I got the seaweed removed it cost $4,800.00.

The EPA environmental rules require the boat owner to replant it back to its original location and provide grief counseling to the fish effected as well as a temporary housing allowance.

Actually,

I uses a wire wheel on my B3 props this season, but have growth already at the base of the blades. Debating if I should trailer up and try to scrape off the growth b4 I get a vibration.
