Default Bed comfort

This will show my age question........

I got a 2001 3000 scr and the forward bed cushion is getting little on the soft side.We wake up and we are a little on the sore side.

I have thought for the easy fix of buying a roll of 4 inch foam and cut to fit the cushion and put it underneath our bed cushion.

I know that there are places that make custom mattress's for your boat. Always thought they kind of pricey but I would like my wife and myself's sleep experience great thing.

What have you folks done to fix this problem?

Thanks

Roger

Next time the RV show is in town go and find the mattress guy. That's what I did. I gave him the dimensions and he custom built me a mattress that was a perfect fit.

Phil.......I guess I might be heading to Chicago this winter for a boat show. I have looked into these before and I don't know if I want to spend all that money until I hear about someone else spending all that money and said it was worth every cent!

Go to an RV show... You don't have to pay the boat owners mark up. The guy I dealt with even told me he marks up at the boat show compared to the RV show.

Or, get his card at the boat show and then call him a couple month later and don't mention a boat.

Mine is real nice. Like a posture pedic in the aft cabin.

3 inches of memory foam on top and a nice mattress pad works great. I bought the foam that supposedly breathes (little holes in it), cut it to size and covered it with a quality mattress pad. Just add sheets and Good Night Gracie!

Hi all I resently purchased a 27ft SRC and i love it. My problem is trying to track down a letter M (Decal) on the hull of the boat.I've tried several places. It seems Maxum stop making them. Thanks for the help in advance. Duke77

I did the same thing with the 3" memory foam topper. bought it at walmart for like $30.
That was the first thing I did before we left for our 10 day trip from NYC to Burlington, VT - Lake Champlain.
MUCH more comfortable.
I bet that foam egg crate stuff would do the trick too if you want to save some money.

We used a memory foam mattress topper and that has worked wonders. I would put it ON the existing mattress, not under it. We keep the bed made so it looks good. However, we are in the mid-cabin, not the forwardd one, so we didn't need to make any changes to the shape of the mattress at all. They use a hot knife or a wire foam cutter to cut the mattresses. You can pick either up fairly cheap.

Well to end this thread..... I did buy a 3 inch memory foam topper at target this summer and that did the trick. Wife likes it, I like it, it works and all for under. 50 bucks.
