I have a 2008 maxum 2500se and need to get batteries but I'm not near the boat.
Anyone know what size battery it takes?

I can only guess that they are a 24 series. Are the old ones starting or deep cycle?

Hopefully some who know this boat will chime in.

If you have room for the Group 27 and not concerned with cost go with the 27's. Only difference between 24 and 27 is the physical size and the Cranking Amps and reserve power.
Group size 27 is approximately 20% larger in both physical size and capacity than the 24, and generally speaking, the larger the capacity the better.
My 2900 SCR had 4 group 27's which I replaced with 4 AGM 24's only reason I went smaller was to save a little money besides I don't spend a lot of time away from shore power where I was concerned about the additional reserve.
