Default Wakeboard tower, will it fit?

Hello all! First time poster. I have a question regaurding a wakeboard tower. I own a 2006 Maxum 1800 MX (beam 7') and I am going to pick up a used tower on Wednesday, but I'm not sure if it will fit. The tower is off of a 2007 Maxum 1800 SR3 (beam 7' 6"). It says MAXUM on the side and came with the boat when they purchased it. Will I have an issue with the extra six inches or will it still be able to fit? Thanks for any help you could give.

Tom -
Welcome to the Forum! If the tower is welded tube for that beam width I doubt it would fit (without modification). I installed a Skylon "Swoop Extreme" on my '92 1800SR back in 2008 without a lot of problems (refer to my post "Transfroming my '92 for Watersports"). That tower was set up for universal installation and we drilled the tubes for the center section bolts with it all in place. Wish I could help you more and best of luck with the tower. Extremely happy with how mine turned out, especially now since the 2010 stereo upgrade and custom tower speaker box.
