Default Ghost Radio

I recently bought a 2004 2100SD. it has the factory JVC AM/FM CD radio. The radio and cd player work fine.

The issue I have is this. If I leave a CD in the player when I shut off the radio, after a period of time (the time seems to vary), the cd starts playing by itself. I have shut it off at the radio, and at he remote control at he stern.

I know I can keep this from happening just by removing the cd every time. But I am curious if this has happened to anyone else. Or if anyone knows what causes this..

Thanks!

I have a similar unit in my 2400 SCR, it has a removable face. If I leave the face installed with the radio off choppy water causes the radio to turn on,with the face remove it stays off. Best I can come up with is play in the face causes the power button to bounce turning the unit on.

I have never left a CD in so I don't know what would happen in tis case but I assume it would result in what you are seeing.

Good point. The faceplate does seem to fit a little loose on this deck.... That might be it.

Thanks!
