Default 2004 single axle reverse locking feature

Hi All ,
Been trying to figure out how to use the reverse locking feature. I have only reversed it a few times since only had a little over a month and luckily didn't have a problem but don't want to wait till I do. I have heard of some reverse features where only 15% engages but mine does have a lever and tried moving it but seems don't want to move and not sure if is bent or is just suppose to be that way.

Anyone can take pics of theirs so I know what it is suppose to look like ? and how to use it ?

Thanks
Sand

The trailer I had with my previous boat had surge brakes and to lock them out when backing required installing a pin to prevent the surge cylinder from being able to move and apply hydraulic pressure.

Thanks Mike that was what I was looking for not sure if pin is already there. I am pretty sure brakes are working since it feels like it and can hear the coupler moving back and forth engaging , so was looking for a empty hole but nothing. Just difficult since not sure what I am looking for that is why was hoping for a pic. I'll take a pic tonight so you know what I am looking at.

Thanks
Jack

It appears to be that lever in the second picture. I am assuming under normal conditions it should be rotated down and when backing placed into the picture as shown however it’s bent. Seems to me the notch in the front should fit around the bolt to the right to prevent the breaks from engaging.

If you know the trailer brand you should be able to find the manual on line to verify.
