Default 2004 2000 SR3 new owner

Hey All ,
Just bought a red SR3 on Valentines day hhahah. Been surfing forum last few days. First time boat owner but not new to boats. My dad had 3 or 4 when I was younger and were out sking and fishing every weekend during summer. Now have to wait 3 months to use it grrrr but was a good deal.

Thanks

FYI current todo's before summer. Surveyor said engine was in good condition and he had no concerns. I was on the sea trial at a lake and ran fine.

First find out from previous mechanic when impeller was last changed. Previous owner wasn't hands on and had mechanic do everything.

Second - get tach meter working , test and get new one if needed

Third get new radio since previous owner lost face plate and I want bluetooth anyway.

fourth maybe smart tabs

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new boat.

Since the impeller should be changed every two years I would just replace it and be safe.

Many times the problem with the tach is bad connections. I believe your tach harness pulls straight off and is not held on by bolts. Just clean the posts on the tach with a wire brush and put some dielectric grease on them when clean.
Smart Tabs are definitely a good idea.
Boat looks very nice, congratulations!

Welcome aboard Sandrager!!

If cleaning the contacts don't work, the gauge is made by Faria and they have a limited lifetime warranty on their equipment. You can contact them directly.

I'll second smarttabs and the impellor change. I'd add to strongly consider doing the bellows as well. After all, when was the last time those were done?

Hey Guys ,
thanks much appreciate your thoughts. First needs to warm up before I do anything friggin cold out in the 20s at night.....but at least I can think about it hahah. look forward to spring. My wife hasn't really been on these type of boats. She is from Guatemala so not something they do. She has been on party cruises etc but no tubing or skiing. Pretty excited to get her on the water. She will just appreciate the sun, music and drinks which is fine with me.

Me I just miss be on the water don't really care what I'm doing.....

The ones in the link are good to prevent them from falling off while runn8ng the engine on the hose. I typicall use the ones that slip over the drive with rectangular cups with no issues.
