Default 1800mx glove compartment lock

The glove box on my 2008 1800mx has a lock but I don't appear to have a key. That's not saying that I didn't get one, just that I don't have it now. Anybody know the make of the mechanism so that I can get a replacement with keys?

Thanks.

If it's the same black lock on my Maxum 1800 sr3 then it is made by Southco. I know mine says Southco on the underside.

Hope that helps.

Not sure if that's it or not but now that I know where to start looking, hopefully I can find the right one. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that I tried the ignition key in the glove box, but I'll try it again.

If there is a number on the lock cylinder (usually a 4 digit number or so) you can try emailing that number to southco(or whoever made the lock), or asking a locksmith if he can make the key for you with the number. I've had keys made for Thule racks and filing cabinets. Sometimes they want to test it before they sell it to you since there are a few possible keys, and probably to verify ownership, so the locksmith may or may not want you to bring the boat. If its too much of a hassle just replace the lock.

Unfortunately, no. The ignition key does not fit.
