Cool New extended swimplatform

Hey all! Well it's def about that time of year when most of us are chomping at the bits to get our boats back in water. Before I do, I will be installing my new extended swimplatform that I bought from www.swimplatforms.com that should be delivered in next week or so If you are considering getting one, I would recommend these guys, Art was great to work with. My question for those that have installed one of these is I read in one of the forums and I can't find it now and reasoning for this post, was a suggestion to lay some sort of underlayment between the original platform and new platform to curb fiberglass to fiberglass rubbing and squeeking. Does anyone have a suggestion on what type of underlayment I should use?
Thanks!
Wayne

I have a swim step platform and mine doesn't squeak at all. There is nothing in between bracket and hull. If you just gotta have something most hardware stores sell small sheets of reinforced rubber. You can cut them to fit the brackets to sandwich between the hull and brackets. For the screw holes I have used empty brass ammo cases as hole punches.

Just saw your post and was wondering how it went. I am considering one for my 3200. The main reason is to get the dinghy out of the water with Hurley Davits. The dinghy weighs about 275lb. Do you think the add on is up to it? Thanks Tim

I put a platform on our 2400 SCR two years ago and love it. We have had over 500lb on it with no problem. It has been the best thing we have added to the boat.
Good luck.

Tfoose here is pic of new platform. It would def hold that weight, as I have had well over that out on mine. I got it from swimplatforms.com. Pretty easy install, took about 8 hours to install. Def worth every penny!

Looks great! Was looking into one for my 1800, but need to sort the engine out first. Swimplatforms.com said they would have to send a template maker to get it done though.

2900cruiser, how long is the platform extending out? I just bought a 97 3200 yesterday and will be ordering a platform. The boat is on the other side of the state and don't want to drive 6 hours round trip to get a measurement.

pete42003,
The new swim platform added 29" of depth to the factory integrated depth of 18" so overall it is now around 47". It is 95" wide with an overall width of 106". Hope this helps.

lol. I work nights therefore most of my questions and reads will be at this time. Thank you 2099 cruiser. I was at my marina and say a 3200 out on blocks still and took a measurement. We will be going with 48". That does help! Thanks again.
