Default How is anchor roller attached?

on my 1996 2700 SCR I have an anchor roller that is missing the rounded bar that holds the anchor in. The roller is also not the original. I would like to replace it but am not sure how this is attached? Are these bolts or screws or what? Should it be an easy replacement or a bear? I have a picture but do not know how to post it here. All that is missing is the rounded bar that holds the anchor in place but I do not think I can buy one of those.

Does your boat have the fiberglass pulpit that sticks out in the front? If so there should be a stainless U shaped plate that hold the roller. The plate is screwed onto the top of the pulpit.

It does have the pulpit but I do not see a U shaped plate. It looks like it has 4 phillips screw heads into the top of the boat. There is a channel in the pulpit that the length of the roller sits in.

Ok that's different than mine. Those are bolts and the nuts can be accessed from the locker. The entire unit has to be replaced and a new one can easly be found at Defender or other supply houses.

I am thinking that I can buy one and just take the ring off of it and put it on this one that is attached.

You'll have yo look at a new one to see if it can be removed and reused.

That is the stock bow roller. It is bolted with nylon locknuts from below. access is through the anchor locker hatch. You're going to need to essentially be inside of the bow pulpit. It is VERY, VERY awkward.

When I replaced mine, I had to put tools, washers and nuts in one hand then lead with that arm out in front first. I couldn't get my arm in and out without crawling bck out a bit . I couldn't get two arms in there at all. it's very tight.
