Default Transom replacement

I took my boat in for gimbal and bellow replacement last week, The mechinac called me and told me I need a new transom. I went there and saw that the collar were the bellow mounts was broke. IS there there anyway to replace that without spending 3000.00 on a new transome?

Zippy...
sorry to hear about your transom..but is he talking about the whole transom??...I mean the entire width of the boat???...cuz that's crazy ...he could do it one of 2 ways...he can cut it out from the entire width of the boat and rebuild it...but I would think he needed a form to do it....to make up the swim step that is integral with the stern....
the other is to cut out the rotted wood and replace just that part...then reglass the exterior as well as interior of the transom.....so...3k is feasable....but I'd really ask some serious questions on how he's planning on doing it....
