Default stern drive oil

I drained the stern drive oil on my alpa one. I took out the vent plug and the drain plug. I have a reservoir in the boat. Do I need to fill the drive it self back up or will oil just pump into the stern drive when I start it up

Default I'll answer my own question

Ok I found today how to do it. You need a 10 dollar pump that goes into a quart bottle. You get it from any parts shop. Then you hook it into the drain hole on the bottom. Then you open the vent on the top and pump away into the fluid comes out the vent hole. It is easy once I found out about the Pump

you really need to follow this procedure ....fill from the bottom up..this eliminates any air bubbles....then fill the reservoir up and after about an hr run time...check the reservoir again......refill if needed.........

filling from the top down will put bubbles in the oil and will cause some damage to the gears and bearings...etal....
using the pump and follow the procedures...
