Default steeringcable maxum 2800scr

Hey.
Can anyone help with the length of steeringcable on my maxum 2800scr.
I cannot find the length of the cable. and I don't take out the old one until I have a new one.
there's a rack and pinion that's on now. and would like a similar one. just have to have the length in feet. So that I can order a new rack.
Best regards. Michael

If you remove the access panel on the starboard side of the midberth you should be able to see the steering cable and get the part number off it to order one.

Smile steeringcable

Hey. thanks for reply.
have tried. but it only says it's a teleflex cable.
Isn't there a catalog that says what length it should be?
because it must be the same length on all 2800scr boats
best regards. Michael

Yep, got back last night. Last big trip of the year. Now just a handful of nights at our local anchorage and we haul the boat. The season in New England is just too short.

I sold my 2800 three seasons ago. Fortunately (for me), the only thing I DIDN'T replace on that boat was the steering.

I would simply wait until the end of the season, pull it for the winter, then pull the steering cables, and use them to buy new ones.
