Steve
I was hoping someone would jump in here and answer this one..but it could be the gauge or the sending unit in the tank...check the connections at both ends....might just be corrosion..

I have the same problem with my 1750. The hand goes straight passed F when the key is on or E when off. Did you find anything or have any suggestions?

well..if your fuel tank is full..then that's normal...however if it's say half full and reading full..then you have either a wiring issue or a bad sender...senders are quite fussy and sometimes will go bad...

Hi guys
A fuel gauge unit works off a signal to ground.
On the sending unit there is two wires one is a ground the other is a signal wire to the gauge. If you disconnect the signal wire and turn the key on the gauge needle will move hard over to one direction ( can't remember which way) and if you take the signal wire and connect it directly to ground the gauge needle will move hard over to the other direction. If it works this way then you know your gauge is working poperly and your signal wire is good. Next check the ground at the sending unit , if it is good then the sending unit is bad.

Hope this helps
Paul
