Default lounge chair repair

Down in the cabin of my 01 3000 scr, my couch seats which has three sections that pull out, the section nearest to the bed, has a dip in it when you sit on it. After pulling that section out and looking at the bottom of this section I found out that there is a webbing in the middle. I was thinking that a plywood bottom would be there and it would be cracked and would be an easy fix, but no there is a webbing there instead. So my question is has anybody fixed one of these cushions with the webbing? Ì know ....take to an upholstery shop but I thought it might be an easy fix.

What is the webbing material? Can you see how it is attached?

If you can find the webbing you may be able to do it yourself but will probably need to disassemble the seat most of the way.

I'm trying to figure out how the fabric that covers the bottom is sew on or nailed to get to the webbing. The fabric is see through so the webbing looks like ordinary furniture webbing. I'm having second thoughts about doing this just because of the complexity.

I would start with getting a quote to repair it, cost may not be that bad and the decision will be easy.

I assume the upholstery would be stapled. When I hear 'webbing', I think of 1 inch thick, non-strecthable woven banding. Like a strap. Was this cross-hatched like a lawn chair?

Looking at the bottom of this cushion there is a 4 inch wood frame with webbing in the middle with a brown fabric covering the entire bottom.
Yes the webbing is your typical furniture type. When you sit on this you sink in like something is broken and that's why I'm trying to do something about it.

That brown fabric is probably stapled on and folded over as I have seen on the bottom of sofas.

Thank you for the thought! I've done smaller jobs and even worked with webbing on living room furniture but I would rather leave this to a professional.

Hey Rick I was just thinking that I have not seen you here for awhile, how are things? If I recall you were thinking of retiring.

Lounge chair update: just got the cushion back from the upholstery shop. He filled in the square where the webbing was with plywood. Left the webbing in and straighten up the outside leather up . The webbing after 17 years was shot. Out the door.. $60.00.

Wasn't even worth thinking of for $60, money well spent.
