Default 6"x6" rot aft stbd

Hello,

Our new to us 2300 bow rider has about a 6"x6" section of rot located in the rear storage cubby stbd of the engine bay. I know rot is never good but the rest of the floor is solid and the price on the boat was plenty good enough of a deal to allow my budget room even in the event the transom needed to be repaired.

My question is, is this something I need to address immediately or can it just wait until the upcoming off season since the damage is already done? (Inspector told me the transom is not in danger)

It can wait till the upcoming off season. When you remove that section if there is floatation foam under it it will most likely be water saturated so you'll need to address that. However I do not think this size boat will have any.
