Question twins

I have a 99 3000scr with twin mercs in it. This may be a silly question but I'm thinking of putting in more horsepower and do the engines spin in the same direction and the outdrives perform the counter rotation???

What drives do you have. Based on the year of your boat both engines are standard rotation and one drive is counter rotation. I believe you have Bravos so it’s a simple change in the shift mechanism in the drive that makes the change.

I have Bravo 2's and that's what I thought but just wanted to make sure. Thanks Mike!

The rotation should be in the drives, not the engine.

I don’t believe they set the Bravo IIIs up with countertotating as the BIII already has torque cancling by its nature. However by their design sharing the upper as the other Bravos they can be set to do so.

Guys, just look at the prop walk on each drive. They're always supposed to cancel each other out except in opposite directions.

Yes B3s do this as it has two prop shaft that rotate in opposite directions. On single prop shaft drives; B1, B2, and Alpha twins one drive is standard rotation and the other counter rotation.

The OP of this thread was asking if he had a counter rotating engine or if the drive took care of this, answer is the drive.
