Default Pics of Gear Damage in Bravo 3 After Prop Strike

Mechanic says I need a completely new B3 outdrive. Part in Canada retails for $11,200, plus tax and labor. Props are $800 each. Insurance should cover it. Will let you know what they say.

sounds like a good insurance claim, a bravo III runs about $5,500.00 new with the 2.2:1 ratio.

you are lucky you did not shear your engine coupler, this replacement requires the engine to be pulled out.

i would call around, and find someone to replace the gear, and put new seals in, and not re-invent the wheel.

for that money, Canadian exchange rate, i'd be a used unit and run with it.

I do not believe I have to accept any used parts on an insurance claim. There are more pics of other damage. Including the skeg. I expect the adjuster and my dealer are discussing. I hit a rock at about 20mph and immediately lost forward gear.

It is pretty ridiculous that the Canadian dollar is actully worth more than the U.S. dollar and we have to pay way more for these parts, for no good reason other than gouging. There is no duty. I buy almost all of my boat stuff online from the states.
