If i try to just put around it dies, this makes docking pretty tough, have to come in hot. I am very mechanically inclined (with cars) and am coming to the conclusion that this could be due to bad gas. the guy i bought the boat off of said that the guy who winterized it for him may have done a shotty job. Under high accelleration the boat runs good. at low idle it stalls out and has a hard time restarting. Looked at the plugs they look good. The boat did have about 2/3 of a tank when i got it from the previous owner, i have topped it off with premium gas and a bottle of octane booster. after reading some threads in here, im thinking i might have to drain the gas tank and start fresh. I also did not see any water/fuel separator nor an external fuel filter, are they located in tank? Any and ALL advice is much appreciated.
Need help i have the same Issues

This thread is a few years old so you should start you own.

3.0? Carb idle circuit may have crud, at idle do you see gas squirting from the jets in the carb? Also could be a vacuum leak. When did it last run good?

Yes 3.0. Engine will not idle, only if i have the gas at 3k rpm. I do see gas in the jets. Ive had it out on the water for almost a month already and used it several times. I took it out the other day and the water was a little ruff, not sure if That did something but thats when the priblem began. Thank you for all your help

The rough waters may have stirred up crud in the gas tank that got into the carb now clogging its idle circuit passages. Try some sea foam but the carb may need a rebuild.
