Default Mercruiser 3.0L Spacer Bolt Removal - HELP

Hi All,
I need to replace the alternator belt on my 2004 Mercruiser 3.0L.
It's been squealing for a while on and off and has been shedding black dust so it is time to change it.
Last night we took off the front pulley to remove the power steering belt. All seemed to be going well until we got to the bottom bolt which holds the spacer in place and thus access to the alternator belt. (See attached image)

This bottom bolt is not budging. Our plan on Friday evening is to apply some heat to the area and use an impact wrench.
I do hope that works as if the bolt breaks I don't know how difficult removal and re-tapping would be.

These sort of bolts will have never been removed as I have not needed to change the belt before.
Are these sort of bolts worth removing periodically and greasing then refitting to try to avoid these "stuck" situations.
Any advice on removing this awkward bolt would be appreciated?

Cheers,
Lee

All sorted! Phew!

Torched the metal behind the spacer and just below alternator then impact wrench loosened it followed by a long bar.
Belt replaced and all back together and running well. I found that a small bottle jack fitted underneath the engine perfectly while spacer was removed.
Happy days!
