if your speedo doesn't have an engine hr mtr...or there isn't one in the engine bay...or not one located on the dash....then the only place left is if you have an mpi engine...the computer will have a timer built into the program that is read from a laptop......
if you don't have an mpi engine..then it's a complete guess....most people keep a record of time and repairs in a capts. log....I do...plus I have a built in hr mtr on the tach....

the 4.3 carb doesn't store hours (newer ones may as they've changed again! d'oh).... only the EFI engines log info (have to plug in a laptop though).....

Newer boats have an hour meter, think this was introduced 2004? Anyone able to confirm? :?:

The oldest 1800SR I have seen with a factory installed meter was a 2005.

Brit Rider, what do you mean when you say the MX1800's are a completely different boat? From what?
I am interested, as I also have an 1800MX?
