I installed my new motor today . Putting the rear mounts back was twice as hard as removing them . Your job is looking good . See you on the water soon !

Purdy.

Are you going to perform an autopsy on the old engine?

I doubt it, Knocks like main bearing, play in crank like main bearing, must be mains.

When I bought it in 2008 it only had 163 hours so I am thinking the PO did not change the oil every year and since the engine was not ran much when it was started the bearing were pretty dry from sitting for long periods.

I just want to get back on the water.

And all hooked up and running other than a hose leaking. Need to order the one coming off the circulating pump.

I was hoping to be on the water this past weekend but with needing to replace the hose it should be good to go this Friday.

The hose has been replaced and I spent yesterday cleaning her as strong storms were predicated for the day. Only had 30 minutes of rain all day.

Good weather for today so I'm taking her out.

Engine ran great! The boat jumped on plane faster than it ever did, not sure if this is due to the carb rebuild or the higher HP of the Vortec I used probably both. The carb rebuild sure makes starting so much easier and it idles right away without needing to advace the throttle, should have done this years ago.

Now the issue, it's taking on water!

Need to check things out but it appears to be an exhaust leak on the port side as around the battery's and water heater is wet as well as several inches in the center bilge after a couple of hours.
