Default Been looking it seems like forever

I've been trying to find some information about my boat. Not much activity on this board and nothing comes up with the search function. Now to my point.

I'm assuming the fuel mixture is 50:1 for my outboard. It's a Force 85 on a 1989 Maxum 1700XR. Can I use any premix oil or does it have to be a certain brand? This is probably a stupid question but since I'm a new boat owner, I don't care. Lol.

Any help is appreciated.

Boatinfo - The library, containing manuals, brochures and other technical documents from the last hundred years!

Try looking under Mercury as I believe they made the force line.

Not sure what the proper mix ratio is but any quality oil should do.

I thought the force outboards were made by Chysler marine if that helped.

You may be right, not an outboard person.

Chrysler Marine was bought out by US Marine back in the 80's. It was rebranded as Force. To my knowledge, they continued using the old Chrysler motors for some time, then started to merge with Mercury. Force was initially the outboard bundled with all Bayliner OB's.

Force motors are all 50:1 (1 Pint of Oil for 6 Gallons of gas). As long as its 2 stroke oil it should be sufficient. The key is mixing it at the right ratio.
