Default 2004 5.0 water leak

Fired my 2004 2400SE with a 5 LITRE up today. Noticed some water in the bilge last run of the season last year. This year I think I found the source. When the engine is running on the muffs, there is a slow drip of cold water, what looks like it is coming out of the middle shifter cable. It water drips from the front middle bolt. I have a video but cant upload to forum.
I have checked around the exhaust manifolds and rubber cuffs for the exhaust collector. All dry. Engine is running perfect.

Any ideas? Just had the leg off and resealed and new gaskets. Don't think is has anything to do with the leg.

This shouldn't be hard to trace.
There is an L shaped hose coming from your transom to the steering cooler. Then there is a hose coming from your power steering cooler to the thermostat housing.
I recommend checking the connections at the transom, and, on both ends of the steering cooler.

Not making sense to me. If on the muffs the shift cable is not seeing water (submerged). Muff water comes into the drive then through the transom hose to the PS cooler then t-stat housing. Verify no leak at the PS cooler ripping onto the cable.

Checked all the hoses and fitting at the back of the engine. No sign of any water leaking from power steering cooler. All seems tight.

Does the water accumulate with the hose on but engine off or does the engine need to be running?

The engine has to be running. I feel the temp of the water drips and they feel cold. I am thinking it is supply water not circulating water.

PS cooler should be on the port side under ext manifold, no water would be able to get on the shift cable from there.
Just my 2c.
Good Luck.

It's strange that the water is cold. Does it warm up if you let the engine run for a while?

So with the water on and the engine off the drip stops?

Some models such as mine has the PS cooler mounter on the back of the engine just behind the distributor.

Ok so the system is pressurized, very low but has pressure from the raw water pump. Being that the water stays cold the leak has to be between the transom connection on the inside to the input of the t-stat housing. If you disconnect the shift cable and move it to the side does water still accumulate in the same area or follow the cable?
