Default 2002 6.2 MPI?

I just traded in my 1992 2300 SCR for a 2002 2700 SCR. Wow! what a difference. Loads of storage and room. Can someone please tell me what RPM I should be cruising at? I've only had it out one time so far, and tried to keep it under 4000 rpm with a speed of about 25mph. How fast can I go without damaging the motor?

Thank you all.

Hi Bill
I have the 2003 6.2ltr mpi engine in the same boat...2700scr....
mine will spin right up to the rev limiter...5280 rpm's....I normally run mine at about 4k to 4200rpm....it will cruise quite nicely at between 28 and 30 mph....if you have the b3 drive..which I think you do....it will be really effecient at that speed and rides nice...just remember to trim the drive up lightly until you gain about a couple hundred rpms..that's about the sweet spot of the drive/boat....
I've done several mods to make my life a bit easier....like..a portlight in the batcave....changed the plastic puck lights to metal lights with switches....added fishfinder...gps.....we have reverse cycle air/heat....

the boat is so comfortable that we just got back from 5 days in the san juan islands ....had a ball.....let me know if I can be of help...

also check out some of the photo's of my boat in the gallery...

Default Thanks seapuppy

I checked out your pictures and love the mods. Not sure if I have the guts to cut a hole in my boat, but I may mount the low voltage lights on the platform. Someone asked why there are snaps on the bow bed cushions. Any idea?

Thanks again!

yeah..so they don't blow off when your doing about 30mph....you may need to install the opposing snaps on the deck if it didn't come with them installed...not a big issue...
