Default O Poo

Ok so one of my worst fears when it comes to jobs to do on a boat comes up, my macerator pump appears to not work, I have the 3500 SCR 2002, I tried to empty the tank after the weekend and suspected that it was not emptying properly overboard, so against my normal sanity I jumped in and with mask looked at the threw hull as someone activated the dual switches, it was only letting bubbles of air out??

So my questions would be

1) I have power and the motor is engaging but does not appear to be pumping, do these motors have plastic gears that could have shredded?
2) Is there a hidden valve somewhere to switch between pumping out of the Starboard waste nozzle(dock side removal) to pumping out to sea?
3) Does anyone know the model of motor used as I forgot to take picks and model details before leaving the dock
4) Has anyone had this problem and can I just change out the pump and not get covered in you know what?

Cheers

Any macerator pump will work fine. I believe that it is Jabsco, though Shurflo, Johnson and Flojet are also fine brands. Just make sure you are matching the inlet and outlet sizes.

your toilet paper can get as hard as a rock, and block the suction in the tank.

its not the pump or the shredder.

pull the bottom hose off, and check, be prepared for the brew to leak, so dilute it full with clean water and blue chemicals.

You could disconnect the hose at the bottom of the pump, and poke the clog with a coat hanger..... watch out for water fountains...

poop tank on its side
