That sounds about right. INterstate used to give 12 months free replacement and then prorate after that 12 month period. They changed last year and now they offer 12 months free replacement and after that you are SOL.
Warranty for any battery bought after May 1, 2012:

Warranty for any battery bought before May 1, 2012:

Kinda makes you not want to buy a more expensive battery even though it may be better. If it does fail, you get the same warranty as the cheaper no-name ones.

Only if you want to spend $180+ for it. Seems all of the standard Lead Acid batteries are still 12 month warranty.
Only the Optima ones are more, some 2 years for $180, some 3 years for around $200.
Either way you go, you pay

Mac ......that is what I found out looking for batteries for our boat. The high dollar agm's you will get a 3 or 4 year warranty but costing more than twice the price as a good wet cell battery.Imho not worth it.
Interstate has a deep cycle marine battery line called Pro Series that has 18 month warranty.Just take care of your wet cell batteries and could last you 3,4 or 5 years.I bought 2 group 29 deep cycle for a midwest chain store for $80.00 a piece last week. I'm happy!

I buy all my batteries at COSTCO. 36 month warranty and they don't test them when you return them. So, batteries are a maintenance item for me and get swapped out every 34 months in my boat , car and truck.
I have not payed for a battery in years. I'm sure if someone audited my COSTCO account they would see what I have been doing

I am curious, I was at Costco today and looking at their marine batteries it says 12month replacement warranty. Nothing about 36 month warranty. Which one are you getting that has a 3yr replacement warranty?

Headed to Costco today to look at their marine batteries but everything I see says only one year replacement. Are you buying automotive batteries?
