as long as it's marine rated..should be ok.....

1000 wts isn't going to be alot of pwr ...that's for sure...you figure a hair dryer runs on 1800 wts....

SP. I purchased a 700W inverter last night at West Marine for $98. I'm only using the inverter to run a 26" lcd/dvd combo TV. The power comsumption for the TV is 120 watts. Do you think I need more?

well..if your running 120 watts....and you have a 700wt inverter...you still have 580 watts left....you should be fine..but it probably won't run a microwave oven...

A 1000W inverter should power a 800w Microwave but it will need to be a pure sine wave inverter not the modified square wave type and the simpler oven the better.
