welcome to the zoo ....I would think that you need to pull the AC power panel to gain access behind the cd player.....I maybe wrong but thats how it is in my galley where the cd player and the dvd player is located...

hopefully one of our members will chime in with that model boat...

In my 97 2800 it's in the same location. However, mine is held in by fear. I suspect this is not the stock stereo and not installed from the factory as such. Mine, all I need to do is pull it. It's tight but it comes out. As SP said, you may need to remove the services panel to get behind there. I also have a vent just to the side of the stereo that when removed gives me limited access as well.

Superman, Seapuppy is correct. I have the same 98 3000SCR and just ran my TV antenna cable to the front berth from the radar arch. Removing the electrical panel will allow you access to these areas.

If you are running wires back to the rear deck area you can remove the clothes bar in that same closet and the aft wall pad can be removed. Ah, forgot to mention that you will have to remove the door hinge to get the wall pad out. This will give you access to the bulkhead just in front of your port fuel tank. I was able to fish wires through with others.

I don't have a CD stacker. Just a head unit (tuner). I would go the route that Seapuppy suggested. It will give you the most accessibility. I'll assume yours, unlike mine, was installed correctly. It looks like the PO of my boat replaced the stock stereo with an after market one. Like most work he did on the boat, he did it quarter-azzed. (I'd say half-azzed, but that would have required far more effort and forthought than this gentleman exhibited in his 'quality' workmanship).
