Default Hello and a question about electrics

Hello.
I'm new here and I'm very happy to have found this group. Thank you very much indeed. I have a 2007, 2500SE. I do have a quick question about my refrigerator. Norcold 0051. The Freon line was punctured (long embarrassing story) and as a result it has died. I've been shopping around for a replacement. This is quite an expensive replacement as I'm sure everyone knows. In my never-ending search for value and economy, I had an idea. Has anyone tried to use a power inverter and a traditional bar/dorm AC fridge as a replacement? Would this even work? Thank you all in advance for any advice you may have.

-Mike

I'm afraid it does not sound like a good idea... Can you replace the line and recharge the unit?

I'd like to see a pic of your boat. I love the SE models. Beautiful boats.

I've seen a number of folks do this. Technically, yes it will work. It will look like a working TV sitting on top of a non-working tv with the aluminum foil antennae........but ya, sure it will work.

In the future, it doesn't take that long to defrost the freezer. A screwdriver is the tool of the impatient in this case. Ask me how I know
