I've got the 541s. Basically the same. Decent unit, but splurge for the G2 Vision card for your area.

We have the 545s which we picked up last year. If the Garmin 4** would have been in stock, I likely would have jumped at the savings. Dear ol' Dad was a Navy navigator back in the 50's, so I grew learning how to do everything manually. While a great skill to have, and great memories with Dad, I love my little GPS.

And yeah, another vote for your areas Blue Charts G2 Vision card. Go-to routing is great.

Just FYI to anyone searching around and thinking about the 431s/531s model. Despite the manual showing screen shots of the options, the unit is NOT CANet compatible, so it will not connect to the garmin gfs-10 fuel sensor or any other NMEA 2000 network products.

Really bummed. Despite doing all the research I possibly could before purchasing, appears I still made poor choice.
