Default Garmin 182c screen discoloration

My Garmin 182c chartplotter has developed cancer. It started as a purple spot on the screen, and now has grown to include a black frame. Anyone seen anything like this?

I'm considering taking it apart and seeing if it's condensation... but,I think that would manifest as droplets, and not as this.

Ideas?Click image for larger version

Seriously doubt it's condensation.

One option is to send it back to Garmin. They have a pretty reasonable repair service even for out of warranty units. My 9 year old 545s was dead, wouldn't even power up. worked with Garmin and they swapped it for a re-ferb'd unit for - I think, about 150.00.

Bummer. Like you, Mike, I've lost weight in the wallet region with an engine replacement on top of a transom replacement. Don't feel like replacing this too, lol.
