boat doesn't start??...are you sure you have the emergency cut off sw. on??...shifter in neutral???

the alarm should chime for a few seconds and shut off...the alarm sounds for low oil pressure, high engine temp, and low oil in the drive reservoir...

O.K. finally found out through another posted thread this was the oil drive reservoir that was low . Most boats do not have this feature hooked to the alarm ( I know older sea rays do ) . The boat not starting was we believe to be old fuel . I was told to dump about ten gallons in along with 2 bottles of octane boost , sure enough it started right up and has been running very sweet ever since . Thanks for all the help , wife and I had a very nice weekend out on the great south bay ( Long Island ) New York .

Default My new alarm

My new alarm fix would have identified this in no time! I don't understand why Mercruiser didn't do this to start with.

I know this thread is a bit old but ill post in the right forum I have a new to me 1996 1750XR i think it is (no manual) and the alarm is continuous and im pretty sure it carrys on when started (never took too much notice. Is this just the depth finder on mine too or do the older models have an alarm for oil levels?
