yes..this is telling you that there are 3 sensors on the engine/drive that is not receiving data..once the engine starts....the oil/temp/drive oil levels will stop the alarm...

Are you certain Steve?

The alarm in my '04 only sounds for a second or two when I turn the key to the Run position. In other words, insert key, turn to Run, alarm sounds then stops, fuel pump runs then stops, turn key to Start to light the engine.

Perhaps a 2000 MY is different?

The first question I have is are you turning the key and letting the alarm sound, pump prime, and starting it after that? If you just turn the key like a car it seems like the alarm is going because it keeps making that connection. Turn the key to the run position but do not crank and then does the alarm sound for a second or two and then stop or is it going and going?

probably not something wrong other than your alarm is disconnected or not working which isn't good but doesn't probably mean something is wrong. The main thing is when you turn the key listen for the fuel pump to kick on for a second or two if you can't hear that I'd be investigating further. After that watch your oil pressure and temp gauges as if you alarm isn't sounding it also won't warn you when you have a problem. This winter if you have somebody winterize or mess with it have them check it out for you.
