Default 2400SD security code panel

The start and stop buttons do not work when I enter my 4 digit security code. All other buttons work well. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I do not have a key. Instead the boat is equipped with a key pad. You enter the security code then push start to start the engine.

well....that's wierd...every boat I've seen has a key....so..if your key pad is messed up...then I'd see about putting a key on it instead...

Is it the mercruiser system? THis is quite a popular aftermarket addition.

Sounds like its gone bad - try and grab a warranty replacement and if that fails, I'm afraid you may have to purchase the whole new system as the keypads the major bit.

Seapuppy, have a look at this - I believe this is the part.. its pretty cool.

Almost all Nautique ski/wakeboard boats have it also (but their own bespoke system) - I had it on my last boat and loved it!

The boat came stock with the key pad. I purchased it new. I pulled it out of the boat to see if I could find anything wrong with it but nothing doing. This is the bad thing with circuit boards they will eventually go bad. I have contacted a parts dealer and they are ordering me a new one. Thanks for everyone’s input.
