Hello all. Just purchased my 2000 2400scr 2 weekends ago. This is my first boat, and I'm both excited and slightly nervous for the experiences to come. I had it hauled to my house 3 days after purchasing, as the cold grip of winter is bearing down on us, so it will be sometime before I really get to enjoy it. I've spent the last couple weeks cleaning it up and winterizing with the help of YouTube videos. I obviously have no experience with any of this, so I hope I've done everything right. Bottom line is I am mechanically inclined and i don't really like other people working on my stuff. Any damage will be my own fault, but I'm hoping none. Anyway I look forward to gaining knowledge on here, and I'll try not to flood you all with too many noob questions.

Didn't have time to get any good pics, but if you've seen one, you've seen them all I guess

I too bought a 2000 2400SCR for my first boat last July... Purchased it from Lindenhurst. I was extremely nervous when I first got it, she sits high out of the water so she catches a lot of wind when backing into slip. It is a perfect weekend cruiser for my wife, 2 kids and me. We added a extended swimplatform from swimplatforms.com after owning the boat for only 2 months.... BEST DECISION EVER!!! I installed it myself w/brothers help... Do it!!! Lol. Also installed windlass, new guage panels and guages, cabin door, mooring cover, GPS, etc. you should be able to see my pictures on my page. It's a great boat... Not too big, not too small, and trailerable. Congratulations and enjoy it!

Intern welcome aboard

Lots of 2400 owners here including myself. What engine/drive package do you have?
Feel free to ask any question.

I did see your thread at one point, I've been lurking for a few weeks. This already has a windlass fortunately. It's a 5.0 carb/alpha package. I was wanting a fuel injected 5.7 but this presented itself so oh well.

Does anyone know if this has raw water strainers? Reading the manual it seems like they would be optional? The only other thing I want to do this year is replace the impeller and change the drive oil. I'm not sure when it was replaced last so I figure might as well just do it.

The engine if stock set up using raw water pump in the alpha has no strainer. If equipped with AC that will have a strainer.

Intern8tion91, Watch out using gas with ethanol on that boat. I have the very same boat and engine as yours, bought mine September last year, and I've been very happy with it, all of a sudden the engine was dying when I throttle up. Took it to the shop and found that my carburetor got corroded so bad due to ethanol. Put brand new carburetor and it has been running great since and never put gas with ethanol again. Happy boating...

I have been running on E10 for 7 years, no other option in my area. I have not had any issues with it so far. I buy no less than a tank a month and only use stabilizer over the winter.

I just sold my 2400 Great boat for the family. We had lots of fun with it and had very few issues if any. Take care if it and it will take care of you!

We moved up to a bigger maxum like the brand and value

Well she made it into the water a week ago. Spent a lot of hours buffing/waxing/steam cleaning, and it looks great!

While I was gearing up for the season I threw some led interior bulbs in, and installed some coastal night lights

Still a bit chilly to be on the water at night, so no pics of how the lights look in the water yet. I'm anxious to see myself

She's is great condition an seems was fitted wit top of every option (still working..mostly) currently she's in a marina on Treasure Island FL. I look forward to finding out all the tried and true actions to get her back to 100% and then some.
