Hey there. Congrats on your first boat!

If you haven't taken a USCG safety course I would strongly recommed that. Also read, read and read some more.

I grew up on a lake and my grandparents and my parents had runabouts that I used as a teen. I just bought my second boat (first brand new one) and I learn something new everyday by reading boating information.

How many hours are on the 88? What engine is it? Carbed 5.0?

welcome to the zoo....like Racer said...take an approved boat safety course..it will teach you volumes on what to do ..how to be a polite boater and rules of the road...
also....never approach the dock faster than your willing to bounce off of it........
best of luck with the new boat....

I had already taken a course a few years ago when I rented a boat, but Im thinking about taking a re-fresher course because I havent been on the water in a few years.

As far as reading I think Im driving my Wife crazy because every time I learn something new I go tell her about it! I love reading up one what ever I can.

It has the 3.0 Merc with the alpha 1 out drive. As far as the hours Im not sure off the top of my head.
