I had to pass on it. Just to many questionable maintenance items and to top it off all my research was done on a 2400. This ended up being a 2500. Well guess what. The 2500 is a good 1200lbs heavier than the 2400 so the boat came in about 6200 lbs. and the galvanized trailer was another 2250 lbs. My poor Yukon with a 6.2L and 8300 towing capacity wouldnt hang. Even with the weight of the 2400 it was pushing it but atleast i had 1200 lbs to spare. Soooo we did a complete 180 and went for something entirely different that was more trailer friendly even though we are only a couple miles from the launch ramp, we'd be able to take it to the local lakes as well. We ended up with a 214 Four Winns with a 5.7L . I know, boo hiss. Shes got a 100 hours on her and she purrs like a kitten. We've had her on the ocean twice already and i cant find any faults as of yet. No funny noises or weird vibrations. Seems to be an excellent starter boat for what we are doing. I'd like to thank you all for your advise and input it really made me take a step back and think about it. Even though we had to eat the $800 worth of hauling and inspection i think we made the wise choice.

Whatever the brand you made a great choice. You don't what to buy something and it turns around and bits you in the butt. $800.00 versus $8000.00....its a no brainer!

Good luck!

I second biggerseagar's words. We paid 4500 for what we thought was a steal. It took an additional 7000 to get her right. Dont get me wrong its still a good deal but 6 months of work is a long time staring at a boat. Good luck in your search.
