Default Does my board name give me away?

Hello all! Second post, first one failed to show...dunno what happened.

Anyway, so here's the thing...read some posts and see that my 1997 Maxum 1900SR with the 4.3LX should be 4400-4800 WOT.

Well, its not. More like 5200 IF I let it. I'm second owner, it has a stainless prop. How do I find out if maybe its the wrong one?

Next trip out I'm going with the original prop to see what I come up with. And by the way, on my hand held Rino110 GPS, I show 35mph at 4800 rpm. Somethin' ain't right huh?

What ya think? Thanks for any help

Sounds like a great set up for skiing. Bet it hits full speed in a heartbeat.

Proper setup depends on what you want to do with the boat. Fuel mileage on plane, or pulling out of the hole?

I had the same happen on another boat with stainless props. I've read to get the same exact performance you have to up the pitch slightly.

If going from stainless to aluminum then yes you would increase pitch by one size to get the same performance.

As mentioned, I bought it with the stainless already on it but it came with the original prop. I'll be out on the Bay this weekend and will see what the original does. If in fact it performs as expected, I guess which prop I use will depend on activities planned for a particular weekend.

Leasure weekend, run original prop. Pullin a skier or tube, run the stainless, right?

Yeah, right now it pulls hard and quick and gets on plane in just a few seconds

Didn't get on the water. Pulled prop to inspect instead.

Michigan 14.25", 15 pitch

Original prop

48-832832-C1-21 which should be a

14.25" Dia 21 pitch Cupped prop, at least thats what Google says

I guess there's my answer on rpm's

More pitch, larger diameter, cupped. I bet my WOT comes down to 4800, huh?
