I must of jinxed myself, got just outside the harbor and on plane and the port engine died. Would start up but died afterwards. Would not stay running. Tinkered with it and no such luck.

Made it back to the slip and called my mechanic. Looks like this thursday or so he can look at it.

Haven't had a weekend like this in a long time.......fire up the jet ski:-)

Roger sorry to hear that, so far my weekend has been good.

Hope it is a simple and inexpensive fix.

Well I thought I had a carb float saturation problem but,........ Mechanic stopped by the boat just as I was tying up the jet ski after a nice run out in the river this afternoon and we worked on the situation in hand. First ..The port engine started right up and stayed running. Shut it off and started it right up again. Did this 4 or 5 more times and started up and stayed running like they are supposed to do. He had his fingers on the gas line to feel the pulse of the gas pump and that was working properly. I asked him about the carb thing and he didn't think it was that because of how easily it started and stayed running and no black smoke. After all this of about 15 20 minutes of hummmm. what could it be...He said something to effect that fuel pump wheel might of been struck. Made the suggestion of adding a pint of 30w oil with a bottle of seafoam for every 25 gallons of fuel addein a fill-up.

Cost me a beer.....with those labor prices I will have to stock up especially since those were my last two beers on board.

Smiling now!

Could be an ignition coil too.

You have a mechanic that will travel to your boat and spend 20 minutes diagnosing a problem for a beer.. You need to marry that guy.

I will no argue on the good deal and that it is running but what the heck is a fuel pump wheel? Mechanical or electric pumps? Either way the question stands.

Mike...Knowing my lack of ability to repeat everything the mechanic had to say I will just say ...It got lost in the translation.

Phillbo....His shop is about two blocks down from the marina. His crew handles all the lifting of the boats out of water that gets dry docked at our marina.

Roger understood, Iam asuming you have an elctric fuel pump as I cannot see how any fuel additive will affect a mechanical pumps working parts.
