The problem with your gene pool is that there's no lifeguard
Not much to tell - docked at Hemenway Harbor in Las Vegas. The Lilly Pad is our second boat - upgraded from a BL2452 - really need the generator and A/C here in the desert. Use it for a little fishing and quite a few long weekends in the summer. It serves as summer home for me, the wife, and our 4 dogs. I was looking around for information on some projects I want to do and couldn't find anything useful, so I googled "maxum boat owners" and found you nice folks. I look forward to trolling around here, trading stories and learning from you more experienced boaters!
I'm a total boating newbie ....here are some lessons I've learned so far: 1. Do not de-ice your fridge with a knife after you've been drinking all day. That is a pricey repair. 2. Check battery water before every trip (particularly in summer). 3. Same as #2, for oil. 4. Docking becomes more difficult in direct proportion to the number of other boaters watching you.
haha...LP....that's the first I've ever heard of defrosting the fridge that way...
one good lesson about docking.....
never approach the dock faster than your willing to crash into it....

That's a good way of thinking of it!
A newbie here, thought I would introduce myself. I just happened to come across your forum and thought I would join. My wife and I are starting our second summer with our first boat, a 1997 Maxum 1900. So far, so good...runs like a scalded dogAlthough she has been a boating lifer, I didn't get into it until we started dating (her parent's boat is a Maxum 2100 SC). We live in south central Nebraska and boat mostly around here (a handful of decent sized lakes w/in an hours drive).
Love this forum and the information...enjoy the upcoming summer.
Thanks Dan... Good to be here![]()
