    Default Newbie Here!

    Hello all,
My wife and I just purchased a 1997 2300 SC that is in beautiful condition with a new 5.7 Merc. We will be doing most of our boating out of Dana Point but will do the occasional trip to Havasu and a few other lakes within our reach. I hope to learn a lot and meet some good people here. I am in the Army so i do some deployments so if I don't respond to a message just give me some time. Take care all.

Thanks Seapuppy and most certainly will be posting my adventures. I have my new toy over at the shop and have them going through it to make sure everything is up to par and that its ready for some fun. I will post pics of our first time out as soon as we get out. As a side note we have a few AF on our team ...good guys...and thank you for serving as well. I am 6 yrs out from retirement and will be out in the real world once again...LOL. Take care.

Just adopted a used and abused 1989 Maxum. Glad this site exists as I'm not sure what I'm getting myself into but I'm up for the challenge. All that I really know is the boat is registered as an "open bow" 19' 07" Maxum...no clue what the model number is or if that even really matters. The motor is a rebuilt '95 5.0L Alpha One with, what I'm told, relatively few hours and purrs nicely. A few sea trials and there are definitely some issues with what I'm guessing the gimbal bearing and/or u-jounts. I'm gearing up to rip into the lower unit, don't worry, I have a good marine mechanic consult. So during my idle time, I'm referencing service manuals, sourcing parts, and peeling all pin stripes and decals in hopes to revive the well oxidized gel coat. Will try to get some picks loaded soon.

    Thanks in advance
