Line-X in a Boat?

Oh my. I can only imagine that inside his actual reaction was: "Who the %$#@! suggested that you cover the paint on the gunwales, console and other fiberglass surfaces!!!!" I'm curious how much weight that adds. I've heard of guys using Bed liner on open boats, but never thought that particular product was a good idea. If this is light weight and resitant to chipping and peeling then it sounds like it oculd have some potentially good applications.

I've read about it being done, but I think it's a bi!ch to clean. I would guess that it also might get hot.
