Replaced Prop on 1800MX - Notice Some Play

I just replaced the prop on my MX with stock and torqued the new one to the prescribed 55lb ft. But now I'm noticing a slight fore/aft play in it. Is this to be expected? I didn't take notice when removing the old one.

welcome to the zoo steve......might wanna introduce yourself some....tell us where your at....maybe one of our members can swing by and lend a hand....but to answer your question...yes there is some end play or runout in each drive...now what that is needs to be measured by a tech ...he can use a gauge to measure that runout and tell if it's within specs.....

I have an 1800 SR3 which I replaced the stock prop for a stainless one. There is no fore/aft play that I am aware of. Did you re-fit the thrust washer? How much fore/aft play are we talking?
The install guide for the Flo-Torq II Hub kit (if yours has that says)..." The propeller must be locked between the forward thrust washer and aft adapter. The propeller must not move on the propeller shaft. "

Funny I have the Flo-Torq II but the hub kit sleeve that was ion the boat when purchased and in the replacement kit looks most similar to the Flo-Torq IV which does say there should be some play. The plastic sleeve did not have the raised centre on the aft side of the sleeve as in the Flo-Torq II diagram. I'm home from holidays now so I'll have to take a second look once I'm back up at the cottage.

Notice the longer brass "Aft Adaptor" on the IV.

Quick update as promised......

Went and looked at my prop this evening......there is no more than 2-3mm fore/aft movement.

I am still trying to dial in the right prop on our 1900sr, but I have always known there to be a slight bit of play fore/aft when the nut has been torqued in place. FYI, just an average boat owner with no technical expertise. Just my .02.
