1994 3200 scr with twin 320hp bravo 2-love it
2400SCR, but that'll be history if the Admiral has her way. In a new marina where the big boys are, she now has her mind set on something along the lines of a Silverton or Carver 40 footer. Uh yi yi.
Prior boat: 1999 Maxum 2400SCR (I loved that boat but the wife made me get bigger). Current: '96 Carver 325 aft cabin.
I have a 2001 3300 SCR with with twin 7.4L B3.
Chance favors the prepared mind.
2001 Maxum 3300 SCR Twin 7.4L
I wanted twin 7.4L around 35 feet and 12 foot beam aprox. But thats just a little too big to trailer. Which i may have to do from time to time. Settled on single 7.4L Bravo2 1995 2700 SCR. 30x10 (Never mind what the wife said) That will even fit in my driveway(if i widen it and park it in front). Hope i don't get footidis. She's been warned![]()

I just bought my first boat 23' 5.0L my question is what would consider ideal size for a first timer ?
it depends on what you feel your comfortable with and what your wallet can handle...remember that when you go to a bigger boat, your paying more for everything..moorage..gas..oil....etc...then when you go to twins...you double the costs....I was shocked ...like someone threw freezing water in my face shocked at the cost involved with a bigger boat and twin engines.....what was once a 50 dollar oil change ran right up to over 100 bucks...for friggin oil!!!!...

2005 1800 SR3 - used mostly for watersports on a small lake (in my back yard) and day trips to larger ones.
Third boat I have purchased in 25 years - all 16-18 ft Bowriders.
First used one - so far so good.
