Couldn't you disconnect the fuel line fromthe tank into the pump, raise the line above the tank (gravity) and plug the line? I've used a bolt in the past as well as vise grips and both work fine. I would think the mechanic at the marina would have done this for you when the boat was pulled.
Shrew: (noun) ˈshrü'
Any of a family (Soricidae) of small chiefly nocturnal insectivores related to the moles and distinguished by a long pointed snout, very small eyes, and short velvety fur.
Mine has an oil pressure switch that when disconnected prevents the fuel pump from running.
