yes mine was the 6.2ltr mpi engine...connected to the b3 drive...that combination was awesome....very easy to start....excellent performance ....the lighter engine of the small block chevy engine but the torque and performance of the big block and b3 drive combo really worked extremely well on this boat.....we never had a problem getting on plane unless we were going down river and the tide was with us...then the bow would kinda climb for a bit ..but I also added the bennett auto trim tabs...I'd set the tabs for the idle setting...engage the auto tabs...hit the throttle and the boat would pop right up on plane........ I seriously doubt you would have any problems installing the 6.2ltr mpi engine in that boat.....we also had the 22" pitch prop which gave us a wot of 42mph...we cruised at about 3800-4000 rpm all day long and really had some pretty good mileage (as far as a boat can get)..... hope this helps......
