After a weekend of home repair and maintenance.. My other "hobby".. we managed to get out to the river late Sunday afternoon. Armed with a new tube (our first) we enjoyed a few hours of criusin and tubing along with my inlaws.. (had to allow them on they offered to take our little guy overnight) Had the boat loaded pretty much to its max, plus those on the tube... RAT took it well, but if it wasn't anything but dead calm some would have had to wait onshore.
The tube we bought is big - 4 person, got the rope that the person at CTC suggested - none of them seemed to have a rating on them (should've been first clue)
Well, daughter loves bouncing on the waves so we made some with the wake and tugged them through, and well you guessed it, SNAP! Quick swing around and they weren't laughing, but still happy, so I did a little tying and exchanged our youngest two for the admiral and our oldest.. Fairly slow 10mph ride back in for dinner.
Lots of fun!!
Ironically checked out Royal Distributing today, and for half the price have a overrated (set at 6000lbs test - for 5 person tube) rope headed our way. (nice dealing with organization that knows what they are selling)
River is fun, but longing to go back to lake and sandbars... anchor and swim right from boat...
