This past weekend was my first trip of 2011 with the Lottie-Da into salt water and we had a fantastic time.

On Saturday, we took my brother and his son out to hang out on the sandbar in Hereford's Inlet and had a great time. We went out into the Delaware Bay, then into the ocean and around Cape May Point where we saw a dozen or so dolphins playing near the boat. The kids were stoked! After that, we headed back into Cape May Harbor and up the intercoastal to Hereford's Inlet where we spent the rest of the day. We dropped off my brother and the kids and Susan and I went back out for the rest of the day drifting and reading a good book. We watched the sunset from the same area where we had gotten engaged at sunset just 12 and a half months earlier. A fantastic end to a fantastic day!

Sunday was a little different as we had a full boat with my sister, her boyfriend and the kids. We spent the day at the sandbar until thunderstorms got around 5 miles from us at which point we started packing up for the 45 minute trip back to the ramp but while packing up a woman on a jetski asked if I had a jumpbox for their dead battery. I didn't but I offered a tow that was declined. Once we were all aboard, anchors up and ready to get under way, she yelled to us that they were going to take us up on the offer for a tow despite having someone headed back to get the jumpbox from the marina. Little did I know that I was towing an older Bayliner version of my boat with an outboard. We got underway at a conservative clip and their friend with the jumpbox showed up and they got running, untied the tow line and were underway on their own power.

After the tow, we sped back to the ramp, loaded up and got in the truck just in time for the storm to hit. All in all, an awesome weekend!
