I bought a 1999 Maxum 2800 SCR on Friday. The Advanced throttle button was pushed in to show me what it was used for and as murphys boating law would have it...it would not release. So, I have yet to take my boat out and a mechanic at the marina has the throttle out and says that cable needs to be replaced to the shifting mechanism. I feel like I just bought a floating condo that won't run. Is this something that can be easily repaired and/or could it be something else?
